Vietnamese Culture
Hello everyone! I'm Juli, and I'm your 2014-2015 Cultural Education Chair. As important as it is to learn about the history of Vietnam, I feel like it is equally important to be culturally or politically aware of current events/issues as well. My job is to educate you about Vietnamese-related issues, both historic and present. They're generally very heavy topics, but VSA provides a safe space for all of us to feel comfortable enough to converse on sensitive subjects.
I'm most excited for the new incorporation of a Vietnamese Cultural Week, which will fall around the third week of February and just in time for Tết (Vietnamese New Year). It involves happy greetings for the new year, fun facts about the Vietnamese culture and free Vietnamese food all at the Arbor and perhaps all around campus! I look forward to and am very excited for a great year with all of you! ^-^

YAAAAAY In addition to being a member of this awesome staff, I am your Vietnamese interpreter! Come to me with questions, comments or concerns as I am essentially your source for everything pertaining to the Vietnamese culture. I'm hoping to promote diversity and awareness of the Vietnamese culture throughout campus and even beyond the Asian-Pacific Islander community.
